Who may use the service
You must be able to enter a binding agreement to purchase Edarrow. If you provide information about a student, you represent that you have appropriate authority and consent to do so and that the information is reasonably accurate.
The Edarrow report
Edarrow provides college-planning reports based on family-supplied inputs and available published data. Each product has a focused scope and keeps relevant admissions, financial, academic, campus, and career context separate. Product details shown before checkout are part of your order.
Estimates and important limits
Recommendations, admission context, cost estimates, and career information are decision-support tools. They are not predictions, admission guarantees, financial-aid offers, individualized financial advice, or career promises. Colleges control admissions and aid decisions, and published data can be incomplete, historical, or changed after a report is produced.
Purchases and delivery
The price and included deliverables are displayed before payment. Payments are processed through Stripe. Delivery times described on the site are typical estimates, not guaranteed deadlines, because reports require data processing and quality checks. Contact support promptly about an order or delivery issue.
How the scanning reports select schools
The Major, Budget, and Admissions reports each return up to fifty schools. They are not a ranking of school quality, prestige, or reputation, and they never reference an external ranking system. Each report selects in two stages: it first qualifies schools on that report’s own criterion, then narrows the result to fifty using the school size and state preferences entered at intake.
- Major. Qualifies on the highest reported completions in the exact six-digit CIP program you name.
- Budget. Qualifies on the lowest estimated net price for your income band, among schools inside the annual budget you state.
- Admissions. Requires SAT Reading and Writing plus Math, or ACT Composite. After size and state preferences, selects up to 25 Target and 25 Likely schools. Target means no compared score is below the reported 25th percentile and at least one falls within the 25th–75th range. Likely means every compared score exceeds the 75th percentile. SAT sections are compared separately. Target schools are sorted by average point distance from section midpoints; Likely schools by average distance above upper bounds. Ties use name, state and UNITID. Missing comparable scores and below-range schools are excluded and counted. Shortfalls stay visible; schools do not move between bands to fill them. No GPA proxy or Reach band is used.
Because both stages apply, a school you expected may be absent for either reason. Where we can state the number of qualifying schools, we do.
Revisions
The Target Report includes five revisions for profile updates, available for one year from the date of purchase. A revision updates eligible profile details and reissues the report; it is not a new report and does not extend the one-year window. No other product includes revisions.
What each product does and does not include
These are the scope notes referenced by the numbered markers on the Products page. They describe what you are and are not purchasing.
- Free College Tracker. The tracker is a planning workbook. It contains no college recommendations, no analysis, no scoring, and no data beyond what you enter yourself. It is delivered by email to a verified address, with no card, checkout, or subscription.
- Financial Aid Report. The report documents requirements, forms, deadlines, eligibility, and renewal conditions, each carrying the date it was checked. It does not perform applicant-specific scholarship matching, does not estimate an award amount, and makes no statement about what any family will receive. Only the institution can state an award. Deadlines change; verify against the school before relying on any date shown.
- Budget Report. Estimated net price is an estimate built from published data. It is not an aid offer, a price quote, or a statement of what you will pay. The report includes no admissions, academic, campus, or career assessment, and price data carries the vintage of the dataset shown. Intake school-size and state preferences apply before selecting up to 50 schools by lowest estimated net price, with equal prices ordered by name, state, and institution ID. Unknown enrollment is excluded when a size preference is selected. In-state means the home state; regional means selected regions or the home region. Close-to-home applies no mileage radius. Four-year estimates hold annual costs and aid constant without inflation. The interactive report includes optional Excel and PDF downloads of the saved school list.
- Admissions Report. Compares family-provided scores with IPEDS ranges for past first-time enrolled students whose scores were reported. Those ranges do not describe all applicants or all admits; test-optional selection can affect them. Target and Likely are historical score planning labels, not admission odds or predictions. Published admission rates describe past applicants, not your student’s chance. GPA, coursework, essays, activities and current test policies are not modeled. Verify requirements with each institution, which controls its decisions.
- Major Report. The report requires one clearly defined academic program and covers only that program. It applies no preference-based fit ranking. Occupation wage data is labeled occupation-level wherever it appears and is not graduate earnings. Program-level earnings describe federal aid recipients who completed, and are suppressed for small programs.
- Samples and previews. School names, scores, and figures shown in sample reports and on-page previews are sample data. They are not live analysis, not a recommendation, and not drawn from any real student.
Acceptable use
You may use the service for personal family decision-making. You may not interfere with service operation, attempt unauthorized access, misuse report access links, scrape protected report data at scale, or use Edarrow content in a way that violates law or another person’s rights.
Ownership and permitted use
Edarrow’s website, report format, software, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use and share your family’s delivered report for personal educational planning, but you may not resell or misrepresent Edarrow’s product or methodology.
Service availability and liability
Edarrow works to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free third-party data. To the extent permitted by law, Edarrow is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions made by colleges, financial-aid providers, employers, or other third parties. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
